REAL Paranormal was created from a shared interest in the unknown, not as entertainment, but as something to be experienced, observed, and understood.

We are a team brought together by curiosity. Different backgrounds, different perspectives, but the same instinct to explore places that hold presence, history, and unanswered questions. What began as a personal interest developed into something more structured, a way to approach paranormal investigations with clarity, consistency, and purpose.

From the beginning, the intention was simple. Remove the noise. Strip away expectation. Focus on what is actually experienced.

As Co-Founder of REAL Paranormal, Saz is deeply invested in the journey and growth of the team. With over 20 years of passion for the paranormal, she brings energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine connection with both the team and guests.

Saz plays a key role in shaping an approach that moves away from mainstream paranormal investigating, focusing instead on authenticity, open-minded exploration, and shared experiences. Her outlook has been significantly influenced by the activity at The Lodge, which has challenged and reshaped her understanding of what the paranormal truly is.

Gibbsy

As Co-Founder of REAL Paranormal, Gibbsy brings a strong sceptical mindset and a passion for debunking to every investigation. Known for his technical expertise, he is always pushing boundaries and challenging what’s presented to him.

Despite his grounded approach, the activity experienced at The Lodge has tested his views, creating an ongoing struggle to fully rationalise what’s happening. Rather than accepting things at face value, Gibbsy remains committed to questioning, analysing, and seeking answers

Olly

As REAL Paranormal’s resident Freemason, Olly brings valuable insight into tradition, symbolism, and the spaces we investigate. Open-minded and a true wealth of knowledge, he offers perspective that often adds depth to our understanding to each investigation.

Known for his ability to derail a conversation in the best possible way, Olly regularly introduces new angles just when they’re needed most. Unshakable in the face of the activity at The Lodge, he remains calm, composed, and consistently grounded throughout every investigation.

Owen

Owen brings a focused and analytical approach to REAL Paranormal, with a way of thinking closely aligned to Gibbsy’s—grounded, questioning, and evidence-led. His passion for filming plays a key role in documenting investigations, ensuring moments are captured clearly and objectively.

Observant and driven by curiosity, Owen is committed to exploring the unknown while building a clearer understanding through evidence, always striving to separate genuine experiences from assumption.

Lucy

Small but fierce, Lucy brings energy, humour, and sharp one-liners to REAL Paranormal, with an infectious laugh that’s hard to miss. Quick-witted and confident, she adds a strong presence to every investigation.

The observation hub is firmly her domain, where she monitors cameras and meticulously records data from the very start and throughout each investigation. Combining a lively personality with a no-nonsense approach to evidence, Lucy plays a key role in keeping investigations structured, controlled, and well documented.

Abs

Abs is the ultimate all-rounder within REAL Paranormal, covering everything from graphic design and marketing to website development and IT support. No-nonsense and incredibly hard-working, she turns her hand to whatever is needed—and delivers every time.

With a wicked sense of humour and a straight-talking attitude, Abs gets the job done without fuss, playing a vital role behind the scenes in keeping everything running smoothly.

Building Something Real

As interest in our investigations grew, so did the need for a consistent environment where this approach could fully develop.

That led to the new home of REAL Paranormal. The Lodge in Bacup.

A working Masonic Hall dating back to the 1800s, The Lodge became the natural base for REAL Paranormal. It provides a space where investigations can be carried out with focus, structure, and respect for both the building and those within it.

Here, we are able to move beyond one off events and begin building something more meaningful. A continuous record of experiences. A deeper understanding of a single location. A space where guests are not just attending, but contributing.
